During Black History Month 2012 and beyond Harlem Heritage Tours will truly bring the sights, sounds and history of Harlem to life via our Harlem Heritage Multimedia Walking and Bus Tours.  Walk the streets of Harlem with an excellent born and raised Harlem Tour guide who is equipped with audio visual devices that will be played at the very sight where history happened – the perfect combination of human and technology.


Harlem Movie/TV Multimedia Walking Tour.

Authentic Harlem, Film and TV

The Harlem Movie TV Multimedia Walking Tour will take you to sites in Harlem where movie/TV shows were shot and play back the applicable scenes at the Harlem sites where they were filmed.

Tour starts with a video presentation at the Harlem Heritage Tourism and Cultural celebrating Movie/TV greats associated Harlem such Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Sydney Poitier, Redd Foxx, Flip Wilson and Bill Cosby.

Along the way a born and raised Harlem tour guide will convey the true history of the Harlem areas where the scenes were filmed.

Harlem Roots of Hip Hop Multimedia Walking Tour

Hip Hop culture stated in the Bronx, but Harlem served as both stage and player during the early days of Hip Hop.  The Roots of Hip Hop Multimedia Walking Tour takes back to the early 1970’s and 1980’s when local young people used their creativity and imagination to create what has now tuned into a global phenomenon.  Tour starts with a Hip Hop video presentation at the Harlem Heritage Tourism and Cultural Center located directly across the street from old site of the legendary Harlem Hip Hop location known as “Harlem World”

The Roots of Hip Hop Multimedia Walking Tour is lead by Harlem Hip Hop legends such as LA Sunshine from the Treacherous Three.  Vintage Harlem Hip Hop video and audio will be presented along the way – old school hip hop culture will come to life on this tour.

The Harlem Civil Rights Multimedia Bus / Walking Tour

The idea of this tour is to convey what the Civil Rights Movement was, what it meant to the country/world, and the role that Harlem

leaders and community organizations played in the movement. Considering the resent accomplishments of President Barack Obama, we think it is only fitting to recognize the period (1960’s) and the legends that laid the foundation for his  accomplishments.  This tour is unique in that we will present video clips of history at the very sight where history happened. Hear the voice of Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., as he denounces the Vietnam War while we approach the Riverside Church. Watch video of Malcolm X, as he rally’s a crowd with words of wisdom and truth.  Feel the energy of former Congressman and Religious leader Rev. Adam C. Powell Jr., as he screams to the crowd “WHAT’S IN YOUR HAND.”  Relive the history.

Hip Hop, Bronx, 1980's Harlem

Hip Hop started in the Bronx in the 1970’s and has since become a global phenomenon, but true Hip Hop culture has been lost in the mix.  Travel with MC Greg Nice as we take a trip back in time and explore the neighborhoods in the Bronx and Harlem where Hip Hop originated.  The idea of this tour is to visit sights where Hip Hop culture originated and present video footage that brings the sight to life.  Greg Nice (tour guide) was born, raised and still lives in the Bronx.   Sights include 62 Park, former home of Grand Master Flash, Rucker Park, The Black Door, Hip Hop Wall of Fame, Harlem World + more.

Authentic, Historic, Present Day Harlem

This multimedia bus / walking tour provides an overall history of the Harlem community, with special emphasis on 20th century Harlem. Learn how Harlem became the African-American capital of the USA and the impact the community has had on the world over the past 100 years. In an effort to provide true understanding of the history, we will present video and audio though out the tour. Visit the world famous Apollo Theater and view 1960’s footage of a James Brown performance before you enter the historic building, cruise through Strivers Row and view scenes from Spike Lee’s movie “Jungle Fever”, take a picture on the steps of the Langston Hughes House after listening to his poem: “The Negro Speaks of Rivers” + much more.
