The media has long portrayed Harlem as an undesirable place to visit and raise a family. As a life long Harlem resident, I can tell you that Harlem is one of the warmest and friendliest neighborhoods in New York.

Is Harlem Heritage Tours based in Harlem?
Yes – Harlem Heritage Tours is one of few tour companies based in the Harlem community and operated by Harlem residents. We feel that visitors want authentic, reality based experiences that come from those who live and work in the community.

What is Soul Food?
Soul food is delicious southern cuisine that get its origin from Slavery. Many of the slave masters would keep the most desirable foods for them selves and toss what they considered to be the scraps to the slaves. The slaves would transform these foods into meals that many line up for in soul food restaurants around the country.

Do we pick up at hotels?

How many churches in Harlem?
Over 400 houses of worship exist in the Harlem community. The religious denominations consist of Baptist, Roman Catholic, Seventh Day Adventist, Black Muslims, Episcopalian, Methodist, and various others. Our gospel tours visit one church/faith based organization.
