Civil Rights Day Trip

Come with us and explore the contributions that 1960’s Harlem made to the Civil Rights Movement. It was less than fifty years ago that practically every young person in Harlem was connected in some way with the upward mobility of the community – lets tour the historic streets and remember those monumental times.
We will begin the day with a walking / bus tour that will visit a cross section of sites that were important to the movement such as: The African Nationalist Pioneer Movement, Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building, Canaan Baptist Church and many others. Many rightfully know of Martin L. King Jr. and Malcolm X, but in addition we will sing the song of others who made huge sacrifices such as Wyatt Tee Walker, Carlos A Cooks, Jesse Gray, Queen Mother Moore, Preston Wilcox and many others. After tour we will have a Civil Rights
We will end the day at the Harlem Heritage Tourism & Cultural Center with a video presentation that will bring to life much of what will be expressed during you trip through the historic streets of Harlem.
